These expensive eccentricities got out of my mind. I also met Linux in that decade and by the end of it, I was already using Linux exclusively. Later, in the ’90s when I was in college I actually understood the concept and saw news about some consumer products (but never saw them in person). I really did not understand what it was about: it was very confusing, some people in a place doing things… but they weren’t in that place, and those things were not real.
